The Meaning of the Hummingbird and Dove

Christianity (Dove)  - A Symbol of Peace (Psalm 68:13)

Native America (Hummingbird)A Symbol of Peace, Love & Happiness

Today, I would like to share with you a story behind my ministry's  logo.

A while ago, I was going through so much. I was healing from five surgeries in relation to breast cancer. I was tested in so many areas at this time, it seemed that the attacks were non-stop.

One day, I was so down in my spirit, that I almost allowed the enemy sell me on giving up on life. I  felt so weak that I thought, "Lord if I am going to be tested in these areas, then I just give up!"

I pulled myself out of bed, got dressed and walked to my porch. Do you know what the Lord did? He sent a plethora of Hummingbirds!

There were hundreds of them, surrounding my front yard. They were in the bushes, in the trees and hovering over my flower bed. I've never seen such a sight. Because where I live, I never see them.

The crazy thing that happened next, took me out of my "funk", so to speak.

Right in front of me, hovering right in my face, almost touching my nose, was a Hummingbird. He was mostly blue with a gold beak with touches of green and fuchsia, he was so pretty. Well, this Hummingbird wouldn't leave, it just stayed there for at least 10 minutes, just looking at me and fluttering its wings.

I asked the Lord, "Why is this bird doing this?"

And the Lord replied, "Because I want you to know, that there is HOPE!"

At first, I didn't understand why the Lord chose a Hummingbird, as an illustration, to speak to me. But, I knew it was for a reason. The birds left, they never returned and  I have not seen them since.

Afterward,  I started to search the Internet on what the meaning of the Hummingbird meant. I found out in Native American Culture, it means; Peace, Love, and Happiness.

That day, I promised the Lord that I will never sink that low again. Do you want to know why?

Because there is HOPE in the fight, and the fight we are in, is LIFE!

I can say, after that day, I have been so richly blessed in every possible way. I grew up in faith, got my fight back, and with a few struggling gray hairs on top of my head, that refuse to be dyed, I am able to share this story with all of you.

So, in conclusion

When you see my ministry's logo, it's a Hummingbird on a cross with the name of my ministry on top. This represents my mission and ministry. It's about reaching in HOPE to all of you via my sermons and blogs and, to bring ENCOURAGEMENT, FAITH, EMPOWERMENT and possibly, some LAUGHTER along the way!

PRAISE THE LORD JESUS! FOR HE IS SUCH A JUST AND LOVING GOD!

For those who don't know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, I invite you into knowing Him. (Romans 10:9-14)

Prayer: Lord, Please forgive me of my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me by your blood that was shed for me on the cross. Today, I renounce satan and all of my sins and decide to walk in your presence and power. Thank you, Father, for loving me and accepting me into your kingdom. In Jesus name, amen!

Now, once when you have prayed this prayer. I encourage you to purchase a bible, find a good church home and join a good bible study group. I encourage you to start with the book of Matthew and continue on. (Starter scriptures: Isaiah 43:25-26; 44:6-8; Isaiah 53; John 1)

Congratulations on your new birth! God blesses you!

Blessing,

Pastor D.Williams
